Look! It's a recipe

Add all seasonings to scallops in a mixing bowl. Toss until seasonings are mixed through.

Put the mixture in a large, non-stick skillet & cook on high for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
 {about 10 minutes if scallops are frozen}

About half way through cooking, sprinkle bits of cilantro & squeeze a lime slice into mixture.

Serve up, sprinkle lots of cilantro & squeeze lots of lime juice onto it,
& I added a bit more cayenne pepper, I like it spicy,
& enjoy. :)

Soo, I didn't think this was going to work

..But apparently it did. Haha, I didn't think it would work because it wasn't the same type of shirt I saw in the tutorial. Therefore, I didn't take any pictures of the process {sorry!} but I took a before picture, so that's good!

This shirt just fit weird. It always had, I think I got it at JC Penny when I was in, like, 8th grade just for a long sleeved shirt; but the sleeves were too short {Kinda pointless..} So, I decided to try it out to see if I could actually get some use out of it, & I love it! So cute!

What my teens have taught me {so far}..

So, there was a whole group of women that I saw on Story of my Life that all made a post about what they've learned in their twenties so far. I was inspired & I wanted to do my own. Since my birthday just passed & I turned 19, leaving just one short year left of my teenage life, I thought I would share what these years have taught me, because they have definitely taught me so much.

Be nice to everyone.
After being in high school for 4 years & in those 4 years being sent to the principal's office for "bullying" 3 times, you learn a little bit about how to treat people & how to present yourself. Now, I wouldn't consider myself or my friends from high school bullies, but we presented ourselves in a way that could be taken as intimidating. I just kind of can't believe that it has taken me this long to realize that no matter what, no matter who, no matter when, just be nice, be kind, be thoughtful & considerate. It will make you & whoever you're talking to feel better at that time & later.

Smile.
I'm still working on this one, I love to smile, but I guess when I walk around, even if I'm perfectly happy I have this "look" on my face. People tell me a lot that I look mad, so sometimes I have to stop & think about how my face is & try to soften it. Haha, but smile at strangers & people you pass, seriously, it makes things so much nicer.

No matter what you think, you will get over "him".
You know, "him". That guy you've had floating in the back of your mind for what seems like forever, after he broke your heart, you think there won't ever be anyone else. Maybe there's just one of "him" or maybe there are a few. But what I can guarantee you that no matter how much you think you won't get over it, you will.

Always, always, always say thank you.
I learned this once when I worked all day long slaving away for somebody {they'll remain unnamed} & doing everything in my power that I could to make them happy when they came home & they noticed, & I'm sure that they were grateful, but they didn't say thank you to me. It was okay, I guess, I mean I knew they were grateful & happy that I had helped them, but they didn't show it very well & didn't say it at all. It upset me a little bit & ever since then I have made sure to always say thank you. I feel like I say it too much sometimes, but I think it is way better to say it too much than too little.

Dress to impress.
I don't think it's a secret that I love clothes, fashion, & dressing up. But even if stuff like that is not important to you, it's vital that you dress to impress every day. I remember a friend told me once "dress every day like you're going to see your ex", I think this is so funny, but true! Especially because for most of us there is always a possibility of that happening! But really, I feel like it's important to dress nicely everyday. It helps people take you seriously with whatever you're doing.

You're much prettier & much smarter than you think.
Now, I hate when people say stuff like this to me, but it really is true. You are your own biggest critic & you should realize that when you're criticizing yourself about anything. Don't ever sell yourself short or think less of yourself for whatever reason.

Always try your hardest.
This one is kind of a given, & you've learned it from a young age, but I really have learned lately that I need to always try my hardest. Not just sometimes. Because in the "real" world, that I have just recently began to embark upon, trying hard only sometimes just won't cut it.

You're going to make mistakes, & it is okay that you make them, but you have to fix them.
Everyone has always said to me, ever since I was little, that it's okay to make mistakes, you're only human. Which is very true, & they tell you that you can learn from mistakes. Also true, but you have to fix the mistake. You can't just leave it & move on to the next thing. Whether fixing it is actually fixing the problem that was created or {if it's too late} apologizing sincerely to whomever the mistake effected, you've got to fix it. I hope this one makes sense.

More to come shortly...

This is what happens when you're bored at work...

You take a bunch of pointless pictures & make a blog post about it. :P

But really, tomorrow I'm working a double, so I will be bored 2 times as much. You should leave me comments to make it less boring! :D

I mean... I probably should be working while I'm at work, right? Hmm...

I have a kitchen now

Which means I can make delicious treats like these for breakfast! Being out of the dorms is sooo nice. It is taking some getting used to, though. I'm going to have to figure out this whole grocery shopping thing.

Now, I'm no cook, but I really want to try to be something that kind of resembles one now that I have a kitchen & can experiment with stuff & have fun! {Don't worry, I'll be careful}
Today I made some strawberry mango pancakes, now I would post this like a recipe as any fancy blog would do, however, this was too easy & had too few ingredients to do that. {Plus, I'm super lazy}

Basically I just took pancake mix, put water, strawberries & mangos in it, stirred it up & threw it on the pan. Ta da! You got delicious pancakes. :)

On laughing

laugh [laf, lahf]
verb (used without object)
1.to express mirth, pleasure, derision, or nervousness with an audible, vocal expulsion of air from the lungs that can range from a loud burst of sound to a series of quiet chuckles and is usually accompanied by characteristic facial and bodily movements.

I feel like laughing is one of the most important things we can do. Laugh at jokes, laugh at irony, but most of all laugh at yourself.

So, everyone do me & yourself a favor & be sure to:

3 things

1. This week was extremely productive. Which is always nice. :)
2. Luke Bryan & Eric Church & all those awesome country artists that I used to hate. I'm kind of obsessed with them now.
3. It's Friday. 'Nuff said.
{& there is only a week left of school & then it's finals & then we're DONE!}

All of these things make me perrrdy happy.
Happy Friday!

Dear You,

"You" being my future husband/boyfriend/whatever.

I know. This is probably kind of an overdone sort of post for girls' blogs, but I've never actually written down any kind of list of what I want in a guy. But I was talking to my mom {quite awhile ago, actually} & she said that it actually is cool to visually see the kind of guy you want in your life & in your future. It feels silly to write it & post it on the internet because I am not anywhere close to looking for a husband or anything, but it might be a fun "exercise" to try, so here goes:

"Dear You,

So, You. Here are some qualities that I feel you either must possess or I would really love for you to possess:
-You've gotta be taller than me. Preferably a lot taller, but as long as you're taller then you'll do. ;)
-You can't be dramatic. I'm not incredibly dramatic myself considering I am a girl {& we're allowed to be!} so, for you to be dramatic would just be plain annoying.
-You should be someone I can be proud of. Someone that when I introduce you to people I want to brag about you & be proud that you're with me.
-I hope you'll be someone who won't argue with me & then stay mad. I'm an extremely forgiving person, so I am okay almost immediately after & if you stay mad for days, hours {minutes, even!} after the argument is over, I can't deal with that.
-I hope that maybe you'll be someone with brown hair & blue eyes.
-You will hopefully be someone who believes in the same things that I do.
-You've got to be someone who doesn't take me seriously, ever. I'm almost never serious. {When I am, you'll know}
-Somebody who understands that I laugh at almost everything. Even things that are not funny at all. I laugh all the time. Don't ask me why every time. Haha {<---see?}
-Someone who, no matter what happens {particularly fights} you will never sleep on the couch. Or leave during or after an argument {this goes along with staying mad}
-Someone who doesn't call me 'babe' or 'baby' <---BIGGEST PET PEEVE. {You can give me cute/funny pet names. That I like. Just please don't call me baby..unless you're joking, then it will be funny & okay}
-You should be somebody that can keep the PDA to a minimum. That stuff makes me uncomfortable. However, I don't mind a little bit so that people can still see that we are indeed together. {I wanna show you off a little bit}

I'm sure there's more & I may add to this list later, but until then. Here you go, husband/boyfriend/whatever.

Love, Lisa"

So there's probably one of the most different kind of posts I've ever written. I hope it's not too weird.
I hope everyone has a good weekend!
Happy Easter!

Paint Tag

^ This one is super inappropriate, I know, but I have paint on my bum, so I feel like it's okay.
So, as you can see: we played paint tag. Well, sorta. We started out playing tag & then just ended up throwing all the paint on each other & doing cartwheels. It was kind of awesome. :)
